Pro Choice Extreme

As the nation once again rips the divide between the two main scams… err parties further apart, the Pro-Choice Anti-Choice fights resume.

Yes, since I do not have a vagina, uterus, ovaries etc. so I am not really in the race, other than to support those that do, to be able to decide for themselves what is right for themselves and their bodies.

My position on choice, is far more extreme than the current debate.

I believe that a person has the right over their body to the extent that they may choose to end their own life at any time that they wish.

If it were legal to do do, they could seek professional assistance when they are facing terminal illnesses or other situations. By having a professional help with this, it would avoid loved ones having to stumble onto gruesome scenes and be horrible traumatized for the remainder of their days. People would not have to fling themselves off of buildings, endangering those below, both physically, or mentally.

Why do we put so much effort into forcing people to continue lives that they do not wish to? Well, money is one factor. Corpses do not generate much money. Sure there is the funeral industry and the crematoriums along with the urn manufacturers etc. Dead bodies do not need pharmaceuticals, or ongoing medical costs, nor are they generating much revenue for the various accounts at the US Treasury.

Let people die, if they wish. Help it be humane and with more dignity.

We already struggle with resources on this planet anyway.

The FAA needs to put the flaps down on the telecom industry

So I was watching the news this morning and seeing a bunch of finger pointing over the 5G roll out.
The airline industry is jumping up and down about the telecom industry and vice versa. What a joke.
What is it all about? In a nut shell the telecoms are rolling out their new 5g equipment. They are lighting up towers on new frequencies and the equipment in the airplanes has a sensitivity to those frequencies.
The aviation industry is up in arms over these frequencies and they do not want to fly the affected aircraft into areas where those towers are sitting. It is for our safety. For those aboard the craft as well as those below.
The telecoms in their normal our shit is more important than yours fashion says that the airlines need to take corrective action as a couple of other countries have done.
Well… who is correct? Whose fault is this? Well, I have a thought… how about there being two parties at fault.
The telecoms bought at auction, frequencies that were too close those used by the aviation equipment. Specifically the radio altimeter. This is a technology that has roots well before 5g. They failed to do their homework. understanding wavelengths and propagation is a pretty big part of their business for them to ignore it. I think that they figured that their wallets were more important than people lives.
Who is the other party I am pinning blame on? The FCC. I have not heard anything about them in this today. Of course I have been pretty busy working, so perhaps I missed that conversation. I was only seeing the two sides pointing at one another. Did they not see the potential for hazardous conditions? Is this the same (politicized) FCC leadership that sold us out to stop net neutrality?
The FAA should do whatever it can to protect their equipment, but in the end, it is the transmitting stations responsibility to play nicely with their neighbors. Their harmful interference needs to be curtailed. The telecom providers need to seek a different range of frequencies to deploy their network on. Oh… the equipment that they bought is not build for different frequencies? Well shit, that sucks then. Lives still do not outweigh dollars in a civilized society. Suck it telecoms find new frequencies. Break out your slide rules and figure it out.
Shame on the FCC for allowing this all to fall into place.

Do you have a different take on this? Fire up a comment and let’s discuss it.

Chaos

Things at work are chaotic. Not in a bad way, but very busy and so many details to chase down.

I find that at the end of the day, recuperating is taking more time and between distractions and other tasks, I am not putting in enough time on my various websites.

We are working on getting a Glow Forge to add to the home based business. With a little luck and some real work, we can pay down the student debt and mortgage. It would be nice to start backfilling the retirement funds.

The GQP couldn’t even make it look like they cared

This morning the U.S. Senate showed their true colors. They refused to take a stand for democracy and the people that protect it. My own Senator failed to vote and I find that concerning, though I know where she stands and likely had another obligation. It better well have better been important.

I pulled just the nays and not voting. I view the nays and simple fucking cowards that if it were legal, I would love to meet for mutual combat to teach them a lesson on what defending this country really means. For those that did not vote, I understand that some were unable to attend. Where the hell where they? The votes being held by the Senate are very close since the two parties have no clue what diplomacy and negotiation is.

As the Democrats crafted this bill they tried to work with the Republicans. The republicans would whine and cry about some point so the dems would relent and let them have their way. It looked like every last concession was granted. In the end they still could not prove that they had a spine and cared about our nation, people, Constitution… The Friday before we honor those that sacrificed everything, they chose to piss on the graves of our fallen. As a lover of our country and a veteran that served her, I am deeply offended. No, I will NEVER forgive the Nay votes listed below. Nor the will I look favorable on the GQP. Perhaps if the GQP returns to being the GOP and can have respectable and intelligent debates on the points and issues.

As far as I am concerned, those that did not vote are trying to hide. They wish to avoid the tantrum from the former Fuqtard in Chief. They are afraid that the truth will show that they were complicit, or in the least do not want to face the consequences for following the Orangatard even when they knew that it was not in the best interests of our nation and their constituents.

If you find a valid reason that a Senator did not vote, please comment with a source and I will either add the reason as a mitigating circumstance, or add it to their entry showing what kind of slime that they are.

Ending the Filibuster?

There is quite a bit of talk about getting rid of the filibuster. Of course this seems to come up on any change in the party of power in the Senate as the losers start their tantrums. (Yes, both parties) The filibuster has a long history in the U.S. Senate.

However much like all of US politics, religion, societal norms, etc. it has been bastardized. What was once a political protest where the speaker took to the dais just like Jimmy Stuart in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington has evolved. It has become a situation where the dissenting side asks for a cloture vote and if the dominant side cannot get 60+ votes, then the motion is killed.

C’mon you spineless pricks. The filibuster needs to be restored to it’s roots. If you wish to invoke it, you get your half fossilized ass up there are start speaking. If you and your allies do not have the ability to keep the floor, then you lose. It is a very simple concept.

Work is HARD… so do it! If it was easy, it wouldn’t be work, it would be play. We pay you far too much for you to play all day.

More Blind Followers

There have been a few times when I have posted about blind followership. I see some with the Dems, but mostly with the GQP. Yes, GQP, since they seems to have adopted conspiracy theories as a way of life. Now we see it with the Chauvin verdict. He they come, crawling out of the woodwork to cry out how terrible that JUSTICE WAS FUCKIN SERVED.

What damned trial were they watching?!?

Oh! Wait… the trial consisted of facts, not alt-facts as the former Turd-In-Chief used to dole out and all of his toe lickers would applaud him for. Sorry Tucker Carlson, your three quarter stupid, deer in the headlights look will not help you. You were seen being just as much of a fool as the flock of brainless twits that listen oh so intently to you.

Yes, former officer Chauvin was entitled to an attorney… he damned well needed one. He really didn’t have a defense to be put forward, but his attorneys did the best that they could with the utter shit hand that they were dealt.

I saw many people online boo hooing about how this was such a travesty and the case was being decided by public opinion. We ALLLLL saw what former officer puss-wad did. In the end, will he sound like the end of every Scooby Doo show at the unmasking? I would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn’t have been for you meddling kids. Those meddling kids were the minors who witnessed and recorded the incident. Their courage to stand for what was right needs to be lauded.

Had the murder of George Floyd not been captured so well on mobile devices, Chauvin would have likely gotten swept under the rug like all too many that we have seen in my lifetime and the lifetimes of those before me.

Today, the world wonders if this is the turning of a new leaf or just a lucky stroke in the favor of the oppressed. I would like to think that it is a new trend in holding the police accountable for their actions.

Do I hate the police? No! I respect the hell out of most cops. I have interacted with so many great, caring, and compassionate officers, that it helps overpower the interactions that I have had with some scuzz balls. The trend that we need to see, is the falling on the blue wall. Officer need to out the blue sludge from their ranks. Stand tall and help make their badges shine brightly. People don’t go into policing for the piles of cash, because they do not exist. They put their lives on the line having to make life and death decisions all too often. They have to stand holding back protesters that they may even share the views of just because it is their job, just as much as it was for the defense attorney in the Chauvin case. When you interact with a cop, I suggest that you start with SOME level of respect. If not for the badge, then the human being that is wearing it. Let their actions in your presence determine where that respect level goes. You know know, with an open mind, it could be a good experience. I have had cops cite me for things that I fully earned. It wasn’t a hey you pig, fuck off and take that ticket with you… I have debated positions, but with respect even if they could not see it at the moment. When that ticket book, or cuffs come out, the debate/fight is over. Since I am white, the advice given by the ALCU will probably work. Keep your mouth shut and comply and file complaints after. Life to fight another day. I used to believe that if people of color just complied with the cops’ instructions that they would enjoy the same rights. I had THOUGHT that we had come farther than that over the 50+ years of my life. The last five years or more have taught me that my brothers and sisters with different skin tones do not have the same experience. I am deeply sorry that it is the case.

I utterly reject and despise the concept of ACAB. No not all cops are bad… not even close, but the pain that those that are bad… make it hard to forget the good.

In the end, do not blindly follow that thin blue line, it will take you to an ugly place. Watch the events with open eyes and hopefully an open heart so that you may see things for how they really are. If you see wrongs being done, have the courage to stand up and call it out.

Switching back to IntenseDebate

I am moving our commenting system back to IntenseDebate. It seems to be more effective than the previous system. Yes, it was nice to have more login options and I hope that IntenseDebate will work on that.

When I brought IntenseDebate back up, I was reminded of the loss of our dear BadCat. It will be sad to see her name drop from the list of top commenters over time. She was such an integral part of this group.
